INTRODUCTION

We are a group of innovators, founders, creators and philanthropists that want to create a genuine dialogue with the current and future generations of change-makers harnessing the power of emerging technology to accelerate global impact

  • Trying to find the newest emerging tech solutions aimed at the climate crisis?

  • Figuring out how to build, accelerate, or invest in a social movement?

  • Do you care about global equality and justice in any of its forms?

  • Or are you a regen that wants to build a solarpunk future with web3 tech?

There’s no shortage of things out there to give a shit about. Whether or not you’re a die-hard activist on any particular issue or a social good tech guru, odds are you’re probably a little impactish. And if you’re at all like us, you might often think about how technology can help shape the future of our planet and society.

Whether you’re actively leading a social good or mission-driven project or are just a little impact-curious, we want to give everyone the resources to do impactish shit and better navigate global issues through the lens of tech innovation.

We invite you to join us and help grow this community and help us define what being impactish really means. Don’t be shy, reach out with your ideas for content or growth or if you just want to chat and get to know us.

OUR GENESIS

Impactish was started by a group of active founders, operators, and investors in the ‘impact technology’ space, working at the intersections of finance, non-profits, software, social good, climate tech, and web3.

We noticed some major emerging trends that inspired the concept of this impact technology focused newsletter:

  1. Digital tech acceleration in the impact space: The mass adoption and global activation of citizens organizing and focusing on social, racial, educational, environmental and other impact driven causes using digital technologies

  1. Web3 for social good: A nascent but extremely fast-growing community of web3 folks focused on social good, with blooming new fields such as Regenerative Finance (ReFi), Decentralized Science (DeSci) and the accompanying Solarpunk and Regen communities. Web3 isn’t just a buzzword, some of the smartest minds are working on real use-cases that have the possibility to really accelerate the UN’s SDG goals.

  1. Slow adoption and barriers to scaling impact tech: The speed at which impact technologies have been able to scale and be adopted has historically been pretty slow and full of roadblocks, including government/policy hurdles and misaligned incentives.

  1. The technological and generational divide: Most importantly, what we’re seeing as a growing divide between communities in the “traditional” impact spaces and the new communities being created at the bleeding edge of technology.

OUR BELIEFS

We aim to bridge communities, founders and causes to be a catalyst for accelerating initiatives (like the UN’s SGD and other global initiatives) to make the world we live in a better place and help create a future we can all be proud of (and honestly, survive in).

To make sure progress moves with a forward momentum and we actually solve all of the pressing issues our society faces, we’ll collectively require maximum cooperation (do we sound like Deadpool yet?) between founders, activists, investors, supporters and all other participants across all industries and technologies.

If we can help you become more impactish, whether that’s through education or connection to other change-makers, we’ll call that a success.

OK, THAT’S GREAT… BUT HOW?

Well, to start, week on Wednesdays we will:

  • Share some of the latest breakthroughs in impact tech

  • Dig for answers and perspectives to some of the most pressing and debated questions that matter

  • Introduce the people who are helping solve global issues

  • Highlight some actionable ways we can be impactish af

We think that’s a good start, but honestly we want this to be as community-driven as possible, so maybe you can tell us what comes next? 👀
